A group from the town of Santa Cruz del Quiche, who sing accappela in four-part harmony. Most of the songs on their album are translated from English into Spanish, with this one song done in the Kiche language.

This album was the result of a music school taught at the Viña studios for young Christian urban Maya who are bi-cultural and whose music preference is more contemporary than that of their parents. Each member of the class was involved in composing lyrics and music in the Kakchiqel language for this album.

Language: Kiche’
This album contains original compositions, of the Aguilar Cos family. They sing in Kiche and hale from the Totonicapan area. This piece is done in a style known as “corrido”.

Label: Ethno-Worship
This album is the result of a music school (composition) taught by Viña staff in the town of Nebaj. Each one of the students composed a song in the Ixil language for this production. Some of the songs were recorded in Nebaj, others in the Viña studio in Sololá. This piece is sung in the Andean style, a genre that is becoming very popular in Guatemala.

The name of this group: DESDA, uses letter from the phrase “Descendants of Abraham” (DEscendientes De Abraham). They are all members of the “Bethel” Assemblies of God church in Sololá.
